Ian is out of town but JJ and her 2 pups will fill in for him. Come walk off that Thanksgiving meal with us!
Come join us Sunday at 10am as we take a leisurely stroll around the Pt Defiance Outer Loop trail. We'll keep a moderate-to-slow pace so we can all chat and enjoy the outdoors together. We'll be going rain-or-shine, so be sure and bring weather appropriate clothing. The walk is pet friendly! (Please bring your animals so I can pet them) :) If you come late I will post a message when we start, giving our direction, so you can catch up.
The trail is hard packed dirt, ~3.3mi, with ~300' elevation change and should take a little over an hour to complete. We'll be mostly under canopy, but there are some wonderful scenic overlooks with views of the narrows bridges, Gig Harbor and Vashon Island. Pet friendly!
Directions: We'll meet up at the picnic area at Fort Nisqually, there will be a covered area and picnic tables around. The roads are all mostly one way and the fort will be near the end. There are also plenty of signs pointing towards Ft Nisqually so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
It takes a while to drive through the park to get to our location so you might want to budget an extra 10 minutes on top of what gps tells you.
