ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rain will return to the Puget Sound area today and extend into Thursday, breaking a 15-day dry spell that threatened the local snowpack. Mountain areas near Snoqualmie Pass are forecast to receive 1 to 8 inches of new snow by week’s end while lower regions get light rain. KOMO
- ➤ Mount Rainier National Park will operate without a timed entry permit after park officials cancelled the pilot program started in 2024 and scaled back in 2025 - officials said they will keep monitoring parking and congestion. FOX 13
