- ➤ On Saturday in Pierce County, deputies responded after reports a 32 year old man chased his father and threatened his parents with a chainsaw; when he jumped into a pond around 3:30 p.m., officers lassoed him with a 40 mm beanbag shotgun—and took him to a local hospital for mental health care. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank said he will seek agreements with ICE but Prosecuting Attorney Mary Robnett said state sanctuary laws bar him from such plans— a judge on Monday barred his chosen outside attorney from representing him in his official capacity— and both sides will return to court on Sept. 26 to resolve the dispute.
