Good morning, Puyallup.

On Saturday in Pierce County, deputies responded after reports a 32 year old man chased his father and threatened his parents with a chainsaw; when he jumped into a pond around 3:30 p.m., officers lassoed him with a 40 mm beanbag shotgun—and took him to a local hospital for mental health care.

Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank said he will seek agreements with ICE but Prosecuting Attorney Mary Robnett said state sanctuary laws bar him from such plans— a judge on Monday barred his chosen outside attorney from representing him in his official capacity— and both sides will return to court on Sept. 26 to resolve the dispute.
