ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Late Monday night in Bonney Lake, police on routine patrol struck a pedestrian walking northbound on southbound lanes near 214th Ave E and 106th St E—officers treated the injured person on the scene before taking them to Tacoma General Hospital where they were released shortly after.  FOX 13

CRIME NEWS

  • On June 23, 2025, Pierce County deputies fatally shot a man linked to burglaries after he reportedly tried to start a fire at the Pacific Pride gas station at 11002 Pacific Ave S, and investigators are questioning witnesses.  KOMO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Carson Elementary 6th grader Mirabel Hatten was named to the 2025 AAA Washington School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame for her leadership & dedication in traffic safety and mentoring classmates during busy school times. She is one of ten students statewide honored for her clear communication and consistent service.  Puyallup School District

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Bob Ferguson expressed concern Tuesday as the state's revenue forecast predicted a $720M gap over the next four years — noting federal policy changes including tariffs and Medicaid cuts are forcing tough budget choices. He said his team will review the forecast and he does not plan a special session unless further federal actions require it.  KOMO
