- ➤ Crews from East Pierce Fire — the local fire service — responded at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 to a brush fire near Lakeland Hills Way Southeast in north Lake Tapps that caused power outages; by 11 p.m. the fire was under control with no evacuations or structure damage, and Puget Sound Energy had restored power for affected customers.
