ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash involving two cars and three semi-trucks blocked all but the HOV lane on southbound I-5 in Fife near the 54th Ave E exit at 9:27 a.m. Friday—two semi-trucks rolled over and debris along with spilled oil caused an 8-mile backup—and teams are working to clear the scene with no injuries reported. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Puyallup School District will introduce a new transportation system for the 2025-2026 school year that includes a Puyallup Access Card for student safety and the StopFinder app for real-time bus tracking, with updated route information starting August 22—families will receive email instructions then and access cards in September with mandatory use beginning October 6—to improve security and communication. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ PSD is partnering with Acts Pharmacy to host a free vaccination clinic at Aylen Junior High Library on August 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for students under 18, offering Tdap (tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis), Meningococcal and HPV vaccines to help meet immunization requirements.
