  • The 16th Wishes in Flight Mileage Drive for Make-A-Wish in Alaska and Washington raised over 8 million airline miles to help grant life-changing wishes for more than 535 children with serious illnesses—organizers praised donor support. They said more donations will help meet the needs of children waiting for their wishes—donors can send extra miles if able.  KOMO

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Washington State Department of Health closed Pierce County beaches for all shellfish harvesting due to dangerous PSP—a biotoxin that can cause severe illness—in areas from Days Island to Point Fosdick north to the King and Kitsap County lines. Shellfish sold in stores and restaurants remain safe to eat.  KOMO
