  • Photojournalist Michael Driver looked inside Bread Truck Records—an old bread truck turned passion project by a Tacoma man—in FOX 13's True Northwest feature. He showed that the truck hides a creative twist behind its wheels.  FOX 13

ECONOMY NEWS

  • State leaders warned today that new tariffs will cost over 31,000 jobs and make prices rise, as a report shows grocery prices may go up 16% and clothing costs 7%. Local business owner Efrem Fesaha said his coffee shop faced a 10% jump in vendor bills, which halted its expansion plans + forced higher prices.  KOMO

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wildfires burning across the state caused hazy skies from Seattle to Bonney Lake and, in Puyallup, air quality sensors recorded good ratings by the afternoon. The Wildcat Fire near Mount Rainier burned over 1,200 acres with 0% containment—health officials advise residents who are sensitive to smoke to reduce outdoor exposure and check daily updates for changes.  KOMO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Military veteran Zahid Chaudhry (a green card holder) was held in ICE custody in Tacoma after being detained at his U.S. citizenship appointment, as the Department of Homeland Security reported on September 4th.  FOX 13

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • This fall, families near Seattle can visit pumpkin patches that offer hayrides, corn mazes and pick-your-own pumpkins — options span the North Sound, Eastside and South Sound with local favorites like Pichafarms in Puyallup adding live bluegrass and U-pick fun. Many of the farms will open in mid-September and run activities through October for all ages.  FOX 13
