- ➤ Cal Raleigh of the Mariners tied Mickey Mantle’s record for most home runs by a switch hitter with his 54th homer in an 11-2 win over the Angels on September 14th—his effort helped the team claim sole possession of the AL West and extend a nine-game winning streak. KOMO
