  • Gov. Ferguson signed an executive order on Monday that reaffirms immigrant rights and privacy by directing state agencies to review their data practices and by creating an Immigration Sub-Cabinet to coordinate efforts across key agencies—its members will soon meet to advise on issues such as healthcare access and the Keep Washington Working Act.  KOMO

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Sept. 24, the Washington State Department of Health and the University of Washington detected clade I mpox in Pierce County wastewater—prompting the Tacoma-Pierce Health Department to work with the CDC and state officials to boost testing. No local cases have been reported while six U.S. cases linked to travel continue to underline the low risk nationally.  KOMO
