- ➤ More than 30,700 people and businesses in Pierce County lost power on April 25th when Peninsula Light Company’s entire system went down. The company reported the outage at 9:23 a.m. and is investigating the cause — restoration times were not given. FOX 13
- ➤ The Puyallup School District Community Resource Fair will take place on May 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mel Korum Family YMCA and will offer free services from more than two dozen school partners and community organizations—covering areas like family support, health care, and transportation. - ➤ Washington's new law SB1696 signed by Gov. Bob Ferguson expanded the Covenant Homeownership Program to offer zero-interest loans to first-time homebuyers at a higher income threshold. Critics argued that the law may drive up home prices — while supporters said it will help close the homeownership gap, following past CHP benefits which aided more than 200 families in becoming homeowners.
