Boeing Field tower repairs are expected to restrict flights for about a month
The Daily Puyallup team
If you're flying out of Sea-Tac soon, check your flight status before you leave. Aircraft operations at King County International Airport-Boeing Field are expected to be restricted for about a month while crews repair the control tower's stormwater drainage system. Controllers began working from a temporary tower Wednesday, Nov. 4. Because the two airports share airspace, Sea-Tac arrivals could be reduced to between 32 and 38 per hour.

The airport patched the roof after controllers reported a leak, but water kept getting into the cab. A blocked or damaged section of drainage pipe sits inside the cab, and fixing it means opening the roof, so the cab must be vacated. Some arriving planes may be told to circle over downtown Bellevue while they wait to land.
